Applying Design with Hogeschool Rotterdam
To provide students at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences with the right and timely information about courses, schedules, progress, etc., the StudieNet team is continuously working on updating their apps. To better align these apps with the needs and experiences of students, Being A Designer conducted research alongside the StudieNet team.
The process began by having different groups of students keep a diary. Then, in a joint session, we examined the pain points in the information provision they encountered over the course of a week and throughout their years of study. These insights were then translated into visual journeys that served as research formats for future studies with students and faculty on this theme.
Based on the pain points, we organized various creative sessions with both employees AND students to identify improvements. An interesting detail: In these meetings, we reversed the roles; students were positioned as clients, and employees as designers. Together, they searched for concrete solutions.
