Applying Design with Stimuleringsfonds & Gemeente Enschede

ID Factory – Identity Factory for homeless and at-risk youth

Together with the municipality of Enschede and Personal Architects, we designed a concept for a program for homeless and at-risk youth.

About this project

As part of the open call from the Stimuleringsfonds, we designed a housing concept for homeless and at-risk youth. We didn't focus on the shortage of housing or the lack of a roof over their heads. Instead, we approached it as a problem where a large group of these young people have received poor guidance from their caregivers when it comes to developing a successful identity.

In the ID Factory, they work on real tasks and earn a salary. In doing so, they gain experience, learn various essential practical skills, and develop a strong sense of identity.

Goal

Developing a concept, as well as suggestions for underlying system changes

Results

Concept design for an organizational structure | Designing a physical setup for the program | Concept visuals | Concept presentations

"Identity and skills: a great combination for the future"
